I’ve been working on creating a space in our living room lately complete with a bench, shoe rack, wall hangers, and a divider (to divide the “foyer” from the rest of the living room). That way we have everything we need in one little area where we can sit while taking our shoes off (anyone else hate standing while taking shoes off? Maybe I’m just weird like that
), hang their coats, purses, and keys in just one spot.
I apologize for the weird before pic, but I tend to get knee deep into a project I’m excited about before I realize I need to take a before picture so I can show you guys my progress. So was the case with this dresser. We took it all apart and got all of the supplies ready when I realized, “Oh crap! I need to take a before pic!” But you get the idea, right?
As you can see the dresser was chipped, outdated, and plain ‘ole ugly. It is a really old dresser too as it was used by hubby’s grandparents when they were our age (yikes).
What I’m keeping in it
Since there are a lot of things we like to keep in the living area (plus hubby tends to drop everything there, thus cluttering the space up with random things) I wanted a place to store some miscellaneous items where they would be “hiding” so I didn’t have to look at them.
So I placed it by the front door for those random things hubby wants to put down right away that he can simply throw in the dresser. I am also storing all of the small tools we use constantly such as screw drivers, super glue, box knives, a tape measure, screws, and nails.
I also have in there some batteries, head phones,& twine. Like I said, random.
What project are you working on?
Stay tuned to see the rest. I can’t wait to show everyone!!!
