Everyone has a bad hair day from time to time. You wake up, get ready to go out, and realize that your hair is sticking out in strange directions, or it’s flat and greasy. Without time to properly wash and style your hair, you’re faced with a dilemma. Do you opt for a hat and hope you can get away with it for most of the day, or do you try a quick fix to rescue yourself from a day of being self conscious. Quick and easy ways to deal with a bad hair day include restyling with water, using dry shampoo, and braiding. While there’s no guarantee of success, you can at least make things manageable until you can give your hair some serious attention.

1 – Use a Quick Spray

It’s surprising what a quick blast of water and some flipping can do to make flat and lifeless hair have a bit of volume. Simply bend over with your hair falling down, then spray a little bit of water into your roots and shake out your hair, before flipping it back up. The result should (hopefully) be greater height and volume.

2 – Use Dry Shampoo

A Dry Shampoo is ideal for a rapid fix, and can save you time if you’re in a rush. Dry shampoo can be sprayed into your hair and combed through to remove any excess buildups of oil or smells.

3 – Put It Up

Perhaps the easiest solution, you can put up longer hair into a ponytail with Clips, or shorter hair back with Clips and a Headband. It’s a simple approach, but it can mean that you don’t have to worry about the style changing too much during the day.

4 – Try a Hat

Another default option that unfortunately only has a limited timeframe, a hat can save you from feeling self conscious on your commute to work, or can be a lifesaver for a day out on the weekend. Unfortunately, you will likely have to remove the hat at some point during the day, so weigh up whether a bad hair day or bedhead is the worst option.

5 – Fight the Frizz

Waking up with frizzy hair can be annoying, but can be tamed with a little bit of water and condition
to tame flyaways. Spray some water and condition onto your hair and use it to smooth down any flyaway hairs. Remoisturizing natural oils can also work well to give your hair shine.

6 – Restore Shine

You can quickly restore some shine to your hair by combing through a small amount of shine serum
with natural oils. Alternatively, use a small amount of leave in condition to achieve the same result. Be careful about not using too much though, as this can lead to a greasy look.

7 – Braid Your Hair

If you have long enough hair, putting it into a braid will create a smart look that won’t require a lot of maintenance if braided tightly enough and secured with pins. A loosely braided ponytail can also be used if you want a more relaxed style.  Here’s a quick and easy tutorial from Kouturekiss.com.

8 – Prevent Problems

You can prevent bad hair days, or at least try to, by being careful about your hair type. Wash overly dry hair a few times a week, and make sure that you are using the right kind of conditioner for your hair type. Similarly, get your hair trimmed on a regular basis to keep it looking healthier and in a decent shape.
